Another Successful Training Programme at Queen’s Mill

Castleford Heritage Trust was delighted to welcome a second room hire, this time for a Level 2  Teaching Assistant (SEND) training course, from Realise Training to Queen’s Mill, from May to July 2026.

The booking proved to be a great success for all parties, even with some unexpected challenges along the way (heatwaves and power cuts in the town to name but two!). Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers worked together to ensure the 6 week course ran smoothly and that everyone enjoyed their time at the Mill.

At the end of the course, we received some wonderful feedback from Realise tutor, Liz Firth, who said:

“I just want to say a big thank you for looking after us at your venue. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time with you all.”

Feedback like this reflects the commitment of our staff and volunteers, who take great pride in providing a welcoming environment for every group that visits Queen’s Mill.

The training programme also highlights the growing role of Queen’s Mill as a community venue, offering a unique and inspiring setting for learning, skills development, meetings and group activities.

We would like to thank everyone involved in making the booking such a success. Every event helps support the ongoing work of Castleford Heritage Trust while showcasing one of the town’s most important historic landmarks.

We look forward to welcoming Realise Training back to Queen’s Mill and hope to host many more organisations in the months ahead.
