Waterways offer a great opportunity for a good walk. The River Aire, River Calder and Aire and Calder Navigation Canal are all close at hand for Castleford people to enjoy.

For example, walk from Castleford to Leeds - 12.5 miles. The route takes you along the Aire and Calder Navigation past some wonderful places to stop and enjoy the outdoors.

Fairburn Ings Wetland site is a great place to walk and see local wildlife
