NORTH BANK CYCLE PATH

Riverside Walks and Cycle routes

The Environment Agency, Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, RSPB and Groundwork Leeds and Groundwork Wakefield are working together to investigate the construction of a cycle route on the north bank of the River Aire.

Once completed the route could link Castleford, Allerton Bywater and the new RSPB development at St Aidans, Leeds. Groundwork have completed a feasibility study for the proposed development.

Groundwork Wakefield in partnership with, Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, local community, Environment Agency, Waterways Trust, Arts Council and others delivered a footpath and cycle route between Ford Square and Methley Bridge in 2006 (will be fully operational on completion of new riverside residential development).
