* Reminiscence Day
Yvette
Cooper M.P. came to 2 Sagar Street in December 2007 to declare the Fish
Pass completed. The day was organised to also record people's oral reminiscences
of the River Aire in Castleford.

Community Postcard & Draw

Yvette
Cooper M.P. draws out one of the winning postcards,
watched by the Riverside group's Wendy Rayner (left)
and Alison Drake (right) of Castleford Heritage Trust.
Nestle
sponsored the production of a Postcard to fundraise for the project.
This postcard went to schools in Castleford where children were sponsored
by family and friends to colour in the images of wildlife seen around
the river in Castleford. The postcards were entered into a draw and
the first 10 winners will be the first members of the general public
to walk across the new footbridge.
This raised £500 towards the project and raised awareness in the
town about the Natural Heritage project.

School Visits - Key Stage 2
